APPLY TO SPEAK AT TEDxROYALTUNBRIDGEWELLS 2020
If you're interested in speaking at our TEDxRoyalTunbridgeWells 2020 event, please take a moment to read all the super official information about the event before completing the form below. When filling out the form, please feel free to provide as much information as you feel is required so we have a robust understanding of who you are and what your idea is. Once we have received application, someone from our team will contact you as soon as we can.
Location: Assembly Hall Theatre in Royal Tunbridge Well, Kent
Date: The event takes place on Saturday 1 February, but you will also need to be available for a dress rehearsal on Friday 31 January.
For our 2020 event, we will be selecting 12 speakers and would like each talk to be a maximum of 12 minutes.
Our event is licensed by TED, and as such we are bound by a number of TED requirements. Some information from the TEDx website is reproduced below. Please do get in touch with us or view all the TEDx speaker requirements if you have any further questions before applying.
Payment: TEDx events may never pay speakers. No one can pay to be included in the program. Speakers cannot sponsor any part of your event, in-kind or otherwise.
Presentations: Every talk's content must be in compliance with copyright law. Speakers must inform you beforehand of any third-party material that will be used in their presentations and seek written permissions to copyrighted materials when applicable. TED cannot assist with this process or act as a consultant on individual cases.
Content: If talks break the Content Guidelines, we reserve the right to insist on their removal from TEDx branded distribution outlets, and license renewal is unlikely.
No commercial agenda. Speakers should not promote their own products, books, or businesses or those of a company which employs them. The only exception is where they have specifically been invited to give a powerful product demo, or to describe the ideas in their book, and here the focus should still be on the technology and/or the ideas.
A TEDx event is not a platform for professional speakers, such as motivational speakers and professional life coaches. Its purpose is to give a platform to those who don’t often have one.
If selected, speakers will receive detailed information relating to the event, running time, speaking slot and personal speaker preparation with our team on the build up to the event. Selected speakers will be required to commit to the event, dress rehearsals the day before and rehearsals in the run up to the event.
Once you submit your application, it will be sent to our committee of dedicated TEDx volunteers for review. Please expect to hear back from our team any time before the end of October. We carefully consider each application that comes in and we warmly thank you for applying to speak at TEDxRoyalTunbridgeWells 2020.
