TEDx events are nothing without ideas on the stage – whether they be new discoveries, surprising perspectives on well-trodden paths, or something that just makes us curious, these talks are what lives on in people’s minds after they see someone take to the famous red dot.

As we return to the Assembly Hall Theatre for the first time since 2020, we’re looking to elevate voices who may not otherwise have an opportunity to share their thoughts with the world – that’s why we’re running on open process for anyone to apply, and be considered for our programme.

The best talks can come from those who may not have even considered they have something worth sharing – and those are exactly the kind of people we want to hear from. It doesn’t matter if you can’t deliver a talk today – we’ll support you with a programme that will develop your speaking skills and help you share the idea that could change everything.

There’s only ten days before we close our speaker applications, so we’re particularly keen to hear from people under 35, and those with ideas relating to the Arts, Science, Maths and Entertainment. We want to curate a range of speakers across a range of subjects, and we’d love to see more applicants in these areas.

So what are you waiting for? If you have an idea that you’re passionate about, apply today, and don’t delay – applications close 23rd July, 5pm.

Our Top Tips For Our Application Form

  • Make sure you read our Application Guidance – a lot of what we’re looking for is in there, and it really does help when we’re reviewing your application.

  • Make sure you keep to our word count limit when we ask. If we like your idea, you’ll be able to tell us more details in the next stage!

  • Don’t be afraid to directly state your idea. A powerful opening sentence that captures your idea can make us curious and eager to learn more.

  • Check the TEDx Talks YouTube channel before applying. If there are ideas similar to yours already online, we’re less likely to programme your talk.

  • Consider what you can give the audience beyond inspiration. Sharing ideas through talks is an act of generosity – what are you giving?

Want a front row seat but don’t want to speak?

Great news – our Early Bird offer is still available, so you can save £10 on tickets this summer before prices rise. And if you’re keen to help make our event awesome, we’re looking for people to join our volunteer team and support our events year-round.
